Tom's sophomore season in the NBA in 1975-76 saw him gain maturity and poise as he continues to be one of the best up and coming centers in the league. As a rookie, he was named to the 1974-75 All-Rookie Team after a streak of 22 points per game during the final 7 games of the regular season. In the Playoffs, Tom emerged as the Super Sonics' leading scorer, rebounder & shot blocker.

Finished sixth in the nation in rebounding (11.9 rpg), 18th in field-goal percentage (.619) and 19th in blocked shots... Recorded twelve 20-plus games during his senior season... Twenty-seven rebounds against Lamar were an NCAA high for 1992-93... Finished collegiate career as New Orleans career leader in rebounds (1.287), blocks (287) and field-goal percentage (.591).
