Dan could become the most exciting player on the Pacers' roster. Very few players anywhere possess the raw ability he does. An amazing physical specimen, he has a vertical jump of 11'3" and can get up and down the floor on the fast break faster than many guards. Dan averaged 11.0 in 1976 ABA Playoffs.
One of the 11 original members of the ABA, the Pacers were among the four ABA teams that joined the NBA in 1976. Indiana dominated the ABA, appearing in the ABA Championship Series five of the league's nine years and winning three titles. In the NBA, the Pacers have qualified for the postseason five times. DID YOU KNOW? The Pacers have retired only three uniform numbers: 30 (George McGinnis), 34 (Mel Daniels) and 35 (Roger Brown). The Pacers were the ABA's all-time leader in postseason victories with a nine-year playoff record of 69-50. SCORECARD. In the highest-scoring overtime ever, the Pacers came out on top, outscoring the Warriors 23-16 in the extra period to win 127-120 on March 31, 1991.
Despite missing some games due to a dislocated shoulder, Davis ranked second in the NBA in field goal percentage (.589) at the 1995 All-Star break. He also continued to be Indiana's best board crasher (9.9 rpg, 14th in the NBA) and shotblocker (1.85 bpg, 13th).
