Cardinals Card of the Day

Ken Panfil
Running up against Ken is like playing tag with a water buffalo. He's huge and uses his frightening bulk to tame rough pro guys. Ken is surprisingly agile and fast for a man his size.

Name that player!

Third season in pro league. Was No. 1 right halfback last year with Cardinals but may be switched to fullback because of his speed. At U. of Calif. he set a Pacific Coast Conference record by carrying the ball 416 times for a net gain of 2,504 yards. In 1952 he was selected All-Conference, All-Coast, and All-America. Was Cards' first draft choice in 1953.

For the third straight year Bobby led the team's receivers, this time with 58 catches for 909 yards and 5 TDs. Bobby is more than just a receiver. Since becoming a pro, he has played offensive and defensive halfback and placekicker.

The Cards were in contention for the Eastern Division Crown last season, but fell by the wayside. They ended the season in fourth place with 8 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie. They led the NFL in PRS with an 86 yard TD, in KORS with a 94 yard TD.
