Name that player!

Steven specializes in strikeouts. The towering right-hander averaged a dozen per nine innings over six years on the farms. His first as a big leaguer came in his Royals debut on August 29, 2023.

Bret began his pro career in the Florida State League in 1983. He won his first 6 decisions and was selected as member of loop's All-Star Team.

Angel signed for just $100,000 out of Venezuela in 2016. He was not regarded as a top prospect, but his results in professional Baseball say otherwise. In 2021, his fastball ticked up to the mid-90s. This along with his ability to locate it on the black had him regularly missing bats. He struck out over a batter per inning for the first time.

Back to the Front! Royals card back du jour...

Adalberto Mondesi
Mondesi was made a permanent cog of the starting lineup last June, then caught fire in July with a .293 AVG, 13 homers and 28 steals in his last 60 games. In that small window, he hit the fourth-most HRs in a full season ever as shortstop for Kansas City.
