Eagles Card of the Day

Jim Zyntell
Jim Zyntell of the Philadelphia Eagles is an example of a fast footed guard, quick to pull out of the line to head the interference. Guards in modern football must be as fast on their feet as backfield players and just as clever interferers, since almost every "system” requires the guard to pull out of the line with the snap of the ball. But be careful not to tip off your intenttion or the direction of the play before the ball is snapped, lest keen eyes in the opposing defense detect your "leaning" and foresee the spot where your play is to go. James T. Zyntell, Holy Cross. 24 years old, 6 ft. 1 inch, 200 pounds. All Eastern Team 1931-1932. Home Dorchester, Mass.

Name that player!

The former great from Pennsylvania University has been helping the Eagles passers for years. Chuck was a prime reason for the Eagles' championship.

The Eagles ran a fake punt to perfection in Week 4 of 2002 against Houston. The team snapped the ball to the up back, who slung a pass to Dawkins. The speedy safety followed his blockers down the field and made a man miss for a thrilling 57-yard touchdown that extended Philadelphia's lead to 26-7.

Heritage Flashback: The Agholor family, natives of Lagos, Nigeria, settled in Tampa when Nelson was a kid. He shared a bedroom with his two older brothers while his parents labored at working-class jobs. "I understand that everything in life you have to earn," he said. Agholor garnered All-America honors as a running back/receiver at Berkeley Prep before twice making the All-Pac-12 Team at USC.

Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles' rebuilding program is well underway. Coach Kuharich put together the best offensive team in the East, as the Eagles scored 363 points. This year the emphasis will be put on defense as the team tries to move up.
