Geoff Sanderson
A second-round draft pick of the Whalers in 1990, Geoff Sanderson joined Hartford for the end of the 1990-91 season and the Stanley Cup playoffs after completing his junior career with Swift Current (WHL). Another top young prospect to come out of the Moscow Dynamo hockey program, Andrei Nikolisbin is a big part of the Whalers rebuilding process. Hartford is counting on him to put up respectable offensive numbers, but equally important will be his two-way play. The Whalers need to shore up their play in their own zone, and Nikolishin has the potential to match up defensively with the opposition's top offensive lines.
