He led the big leagues in at-bats for the third consecutive season, which gave him plenty of opportunities to compile his league-high 40 stolen bases and 42 doubles, tied for the big-league lead.

The Royals romp to the 2014 American League pennant might have ended much earlier if not for Salvador, whose walk-off hit gave them a 9-8, 12-inning victory over Oakland in the AL Wild Card Game. A two-time MLB All-Star Game selection by age 24, Perez ranked second on the team in homers (17) and RBI (70) during the regular season.

After making just 31 total appearances in the Minors, Hochevar saw action as a September call-up for Kansas City in 2007. Inserted into the Royals rotation in '08, he won three of four starts from 4/26 to 5/14.
