Name that player!

The little gentleman from Indiana is rightly one of the most popular and ablest of Dodgers. A 20-game winner for the first time in the majors. Carl lost only 6 games. In addition, 1953 saw him cap everything by setting a new major league record in the World Series when he struck out 14 Yankees in a game. Carl has already entered the pitcher's Hall of Fame by means of a no-hit game. He was made an honorary Indian Chief in recognition of his feats.

The one-time bonus baby has never pitched an inning of minor league ball. Sandy has been with the Dodgers since 1955, finally coming of age last season. In 1959 Sandy tied a record held by Bob Feller, as he struck out 18 batters in a game. He has a blinding fast ball.

The solidly-built youngster seems destined for baseball stardom after his fine offensive showing last season. His .277 batting average was tops on the Dodgers in '67. Al smacked 16 home runs also leading the club in that department. Defensively, he is a good fielder.

Gene first played in organized baseball in 1939. Entered the majors in 1943 with Brooklyn, played in 18 games. Then spent 3 years in the service. Got back in time to play a portion of 1946 season.
