Name that player!

There never was a more sensational Baltimore rookie pitcher than Wally Bunker. In 1964, the 19-year-old whipped American League opposition 19 times, punctuating his performance with two one-hitters. Wally especially enjoyed hurling against Kansas City, as he compiled a 6-0 mark against the Athletics. The righthander was struck by the sophomore jinx in 1965, but came on with a splash last September as he won four out of 5 decisions.

One of only five players to post at least 15 homers and 15 steals every year from 2021-23, Cedric also is a whiz with the glove. He ranked in the 91st percentile with six Outs Above Average last season.

Though the pennant victory and World Championship for Baltimore was brought about by team effort, there were several standouts in the Orioles' victorious 1966 season. A new American League batting champ was the Orioles' Frank Robinson. The big outfielder batted .316 during the campaign, banged 49 home runs and drove in 122 runs. To cap a brilliant campaign, Frank was a stickout in the four game sweep of the 1966 World Series vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. Baltimore's manager, Hank Bauer, is always quick to point out the virtues of the other Robinson boy. Third sacker Brooks Robinson played in 157 ballgames for the Orioles and once again showed his true value to the team. A brilliant gloveman, he has received the Gold Glove Award for fielding for six consecutive seasons. Brooks smacked 23 home runs last year.

Hal Smith
The Orioles hope that Hal will add plenty of hits to the lineup in '55. Judging by his Minor League record, there's every reason to believe he won't disappoint them. Hal batted .363 for Newark in '50 with 108 R.B.I.'s. At Quincy in '51 he hit .308 and batted .311 for Birmingham in '53. Last season he was the star of the Amer. Assoc. and he won the Batting Title.
