Jack was one of the Phillie firemen last season coming in to put out the blaze in 34 ball games. The owner of a zooming fastball and crackling curve, Jack has the reputation of being a strikeout artist. In 1953 at Schenectady, he topped his league in whiffs and repeated the next season at Syracuse.

A good outfielder with a strong arm, Adolfo also sports excellent speed. The youngster revealed his batting prowess in the minor leagues when he came up with three consecutive seasons of .300 ball. Adolfo was selected to two minor league All-Star squads. Look for this youngster to blossom into a star in the next seasons.
