Name that player!

Opened 1995 season at Edmonton of the American Assn., where he hit 342 in 55 games...Played 30 games at 3B and 26 at 1B after joining Athletics...Batted .298 in the seventh inning and later.

Hector was a busy guy around the A's infield last year. He played 55 games at third and 96 at second base. Pitchers know that Hec is one of the toughest men to fool at the plate and registering a strikeout is major victory.

His record in the Pacific Coast League indicated great things for him in the majors. In his first season with the Athletics in 1947 he played in 136 games to bat .291 and drive in 71 runs. Last season he appeared in 145 games, hit .281 and drove in 88 runs. The war caught up with him, too, demanding three years of his baseball time.
