Indians Card of the Day
Al Rosen
In 1950, his first full year in the majors, Al led the American League with 37 Home Runs. Although he didn't duplicate this feat in 1951, the Navy veteran did rank 5th in Runs Batted In and hit 4 homers with the bases loaded to tie the major league record. Before coming up, he spent 5 years in the minors and hit over .300 each year. Nicknamed "Flip", he was the state high school middleweight boxing champ of Florida in 1940.

Name that player!
Albert finished among the American League's top three in 10 stat columns, including the triple-crown categories, hits, total bases, slugging and on-base percentage. His sensational season culminated with a third-place finish in the MVP voting.
CAREER APPRAISAL: Hard-throwers were rare in Feller's day, but "Bullet Bob" showed everyone what a real power pitcher was supposed to look like. Despite missing three prime years to the military, the six-time 20-game winner donned seven K crowns.
