Name that player!

Luke Sewell, with 18 years of major-league baseball behind him, has the longest record of activity among the big-league players. He was signed by Cleveland in 1921, who acquired him from Columbus. Luke spent 12 seasons with the Indians, and was traded by them to the Washington Senators in 1933 for Roy Spencer. In 1935, he was traded to the St. Louis Browns for Bump Hadley and then sold to the Chicago White Sox. In 1938 Luke Sewell was purchased by the Brooklyn Dodgers, but this year is back with the team with whom he started his major- league career. In 18 years of playing, Luke Sewell has played a total of 1608 games, getting 1389 hits for a life-time batting average of .259.

After leading the entire Majors in runs scored (134) in '06, Sizemore crossed home 118 times in '07 to finish fourth in the AL. He started last year with seven runs in his first three games.

Harry played in his first major league game in 1950 with the Chicago Cubs. A fine handler of pitchers, he started in the minors with a .317 average at Springfield. The following year he hit .301 with Des Moines, Harry was traded from Baltimore last winter.

Larry Doby
Larry came straight from semi-pro ball and became an Indian regular in 1947. A great all-around athlete in High School and Long Island University, he hit .301 in '48, his first full season in the majors. In the '48 World Series, Larry hit .318 in 6 games. He dropped to .280 in '49, but walloped 24 Homers. The next year, he hit .326, 25 Home Runs and drove in 102 runs. Bothered by a pulled leg muscle in '51, he still ranked 2nd in Slugging in the American League.
