Name that player!

When Jim got the call to the big time last year, the outfielder proved he was ready. The youngster is loaded with hustle and desire. Jim spent a full season in a Boston uniform in 1963 because of the first year bonus rule. When he was farmed out to Reading in 1964, the front office assured Jim that he'd be back in Fenway Park shortly. Youngster starred in four sports as school athlete.

An acrobatic fielder, Johnny is one of two shortstops in the majors to take part in a triple play in 1951. 1941 was his first year in pro ball and he hit .359 and 35 homers at Muskegon. In '42 he batted .301 for Beaumont and the Tigers called him up. The next 3 years, Johnny was in the Service and finished the '46 season at Detroit, but was sent to Dallas for '47. A Tiger regular since '48 when he hit .290, he hit .293 in '50.

Nicknamed after his terrific fast ball. Won 14 and lost 13 last season with 3.78 ERA. Fanned 123 batters - to rank among top 10 in the whiffing department. Has fine lifetime Major league record - all with Detroit - of 68 victories and 52 defeats.

Chuck Dressen
Meet one of baseball's senior members. After spending 15 seasons as an active player, Chuck joined the managerial wars in 1932. As a big league skipper, he held the reins of the Cincinnati Reds, the old Brooklyn Dodgers, the Washington Senators and the Milwaukee Braves, before joining the Tigers in 1963. Breaking into organized ball in 1919 as a second baseman, Chuck switched to the hot corner and became one of the game's top third sackers. In 1924, the infielder batted .346 at St. Paul and he was brought up to the majors the following year. Among the highlights of his managerial career were the two consecutive National League pennants he captured for the Dodgers in 1952 and 1953. Baseball experts feel that Chuck's '66 Tigers will be in the thick of the A.L. pennant fight.
