Juan was traded from the Reds to the Marlins on July 12, '02, then proceeded to set career highs in homers and RBI while tying his career best in hits. On September 24 at Montreal, he went 4-for-5 with two homers, 5 RBI and three runs scored. Juan hit three homers in the Southern League (AA) All-Star Game in '97, earning the game's MVP Award.

According to Baseball America, Jordan was one of Toronto's top five prospects from 2019 into 2022, but with the team's "no vacancy" at third base, he moved to Miami at the 2022 Trade Deadline. Groshans debuted on September 13, and went 3-for-3 the next day.

Piazza was in and out of Florida quicker than a South Beach winter, but it was long enough for him to leave tracks on the base paths. Facing St. Louis on May 18, 1998 (the midway point of his five-game stint in Miami), the All-Star smacked a two-run triple in a 7-3 win. That was his only three-bagger of the year and one of eight in his career.

Livan Hernandez
On September 27th, 1995, with the help of agent Joe Cubas, Hernandez delected from Cuba in a stratagem of intrigue that could have been called from Mission Impossible re-runs. It was conspired that, while Livan was playing in Mexico, he would as a sign the plan was in place - meet a woman who would secretly hand him a photo of Cubas. The next moming at 1 AM, Hernandez sneaked out of the team barracks and past security guards to meet the agent in a waiting car. Within five hours, he was on a plane to the Dominican Republic, where he established residency. After a parade of eye-popping tryouts, a bidding war ensued for his services with the Martins finally landing the flame-throwing righthander.
