Pilots Card of the Day

Lou Piniella, Marv Staehle
Lou Piniella: After two consecutive years of topping .300 in the PCL, Lou can't miss making the Pilots this year. Drafted from the Indians last winter, Lou hit .308 in '67 and .317, in '68. Marv Staehle: A fine minor league hitter, Marv has had several shots with the White Sox in the past. This 27 year old infielder played for Seattle last season (in the PCL), appearing in 139 games.

Wayne comes to the Pilots from the Detroit Tigers. The outfielder signed his first contract with the Washington Senators! Twice during his minor league career, Wayne played for his circuit's All-Star squads.

The first baseman-outfielder was purchased by the Pilots last season, before the rosters of the expansion clubs were drawn up. Mike is terrific with a mitt.

This experienced righthander has had several winning years in the majors and may be a big man for the Pilots. As a Yankee rookie in 1961, Roland once pitched back to back shutouts.
