The second leading scorer in Mississippi history with 2,186 points, Gillom's sister Peggie ranks first. Gilion, the 1986 SEC Female Athlete of the Year, has nine brothers and sisters and two of them - Peggie and George - played basketball at Ole Miss. Peggle currently serves as the head coach at Texas A&M.
