Recorded her first WNBA double-double with a 12-point, 11-rebound outing against Phoenix on June 2, 2001. Finished in a three-way tie for second place in the 1999 WNBA Rookie of the Year voting. Originally drafted in the third round with the 29th overall pick of 1999 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. A two-time collegiate All-American and four-time All-SEC choice at Alabama. Was named the SEC Tournament MVP after leading 'bama to the championship game her freshman year.
Valdemoro Amaya has been a member of Spain's National team since 1993 and played six pro seasons in her homeland before joining the Comets in 1998.
Janeth has been on each of the Houston Comets' three WNBA championship teams. In eight seasons playing in a Brazilian pro league, she was the MVP each year.
