Traded to San Antonio in exchange for Greg Anderson and Alvin Robertson 5/28/89... 1989 all-NBA third team... 11th in the league in scoring ... Led Bucks in minutes played, rebounds and blocked shots... Rookie of the year in 1983... First rookie since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to rank in the top 10 in both scoring and rebounding... 1985 all-NBA second team... Concensus all-America as a junior after leading the Blue Demons in scoring and rebounding.
Kareem enjoyed another outstanding season for Bucks in 1972-73. He was NBA's second leading scorer, third leading field goal shooter and fourth leading rebounder. Kareem tied with Rick Barry for most field goals in a game last season with 24 vs. Rockets January 25th. Last season was his 4th straight as an All-Star.
Lew had a superb rookie campaign last season as he made the NBA All-Rookie team, the NBA Second All-Star team and was voted as the NBA Rookie of the Year. He led UCLA to an unprecedented three straight national championships and three times he was voted the outstanding player in the NCAA championship tournament. He first gained prominence leading Power Memorial High School in New York to a 95-6 record in four years, including a 71-game win streak.
