Name that player!

Though "ordinary Joe" enrolled at Maryland on no one's roster of top recruits, he enters the NBA just two years later on everyone's list of potential All-Stars. The only other players besides Smith to win ACC Player of the Year honors as a sophomores did, in fact, become NBA All-Stars: Ralph Sampson and David Thompson.

Paul was the scoring leader in the N.B.A. last season and registered the finest per game average. Winning the title is nothing new to him - he was king in 1951-52 with 1674 points. Regarded as the finest jump shooter in the game, Paul scored 10 straight baskets in a game against the Nats in 1956!

One of the most valuable backcourt men in the league, Rodgers' speed, ball handling ability and driving, twisting shots make him an exceptional little man in a big man's game. He has been called the closest thing to Bob Cousy this side of Dick McGuire. He is at his best flashing down the court on the fast break or using his speed to rip through a defense caught napping. Was second only to Oscar Robertson as a feeder, being credited with 677 assists for an 8.9 per game average.

They were: most points scored, 3,033; highest average per game, 38.3; most field goals attempted, 2,479; most field goals scored, 1,251; highest field goal percentage, 505; most free throws attempted, 1,054; most rebounds, 2,149; highest rebounding average, 27.2; most minutes played, 3,733; most games scoring 50 or more points, eight.
