Hawks Card of the Day

Lou Hudson
A proven forward, Lou moved his talents to guard last season as a result of his outstanding play in the 1968-69 playoffs. The switch enabled him to defend against smaller guards and gave him more shots. As a result he enjoyed his finest scoring season and helped the Hawks reach the Western Division finals. Lou made the NBA Second All-Star team in 1969-70.

Name that player!

An Intimidating player on the court, Tom signed with Hawks as free agent, 7-8-90.

As his nickname, "The Human Highlight Film," indicates, Atlanta forward Dominique Wilkins is one of the NBA's greatest showmen. The winner of the 1985 NBA Slam-Dunk Championship when he beat Michael Jordan with back-to-back perfect dunks, Wilkins made history when he triumphed again in 1990, joining Jordan as the only two-time winners. Wilkins nearly claimed a third title, but in what was perhaps the most exciting dunk contest ever, he narrowly fell to Michael Jordan in the finals of the 1988 event.

After a brilliant college, career, Win was the first draft choice of the Hawks last year. Although not a giant, he consist ently outplayed much taller opponents and what's more amazing, lead the nation last year in rebounds! In two years at Memphis State, he rolled up 1114 points for an overall average of 21 points per contest. Leading his team to the N.I.T. Finals, Win was voted the Most Valuable Player in the Tourney. - In '54, he starred on the Armed Forces' Pan American team.
