Name that player!

A rough, tough, rugged rebounder who last season developed into a stickout scorer. His forte is outleaping and outscrambling rivals for rebounds off his own backboard and either dropping them in or tapping them in for scores. He is fast despite his size. His exceptional strength makes him a tough man at the pivot post from which he can shoot with either hand. He was the team's third highest scorer last season.

Jim is an excellent rebounder and is also deadly with his unique two hand shot, that he pushes off the heels of his hands. Coming to the Royals after a season with the Lakers, Jim expects to repeat his high scoring ways that made him one of the most exciting college hoopsters in 1955.

Don made headlines in 1951 and '52 as Captain of the Dayton Univ. team. He led the quintet into the N.I.T. Finals both years and was voted Tourney All Star twice. Holder of most of Dayton's basketball. records, Don, played on the Pistons three years before coming to the Royals.

Back to the Front! Royals card back du jour...

Norm Van Lier
Norm was one of St. Francis' finest players. In his junior and senior years he racked up a total of 573 assists. In all he scored 1,410 points in three years for an 18.8 points per game average along with grabbing off 769 rebounds. Acquired by the Royals from the Bulls in a pre 1969-70 season trade, Norm immediately made the deal look good when he scored 14 points in 22 minutes of the opening game of the season and played like a veteran.
