The leading scorer for UCLA as a junior with 21.4 points per game and the 18th overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft, Tracy Murray probably thought he was ready for anything the NBA could throw at him. He was quickly introduced to the fast pace of the league as he was with three different NBA teams in the same day when he was traded from the Spurs to the Bucks and then from the Bucks to the Trail Blazers on July 1, 1992.

Portland president of basketball operations Neil Olshey called Collins "a franchise-level building block" after the Blazers landed the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
