In 2021, Holmes took to social media to share his thoughts about NBA championships: "In my opinion Dirk [Nowitzki] won the toughest ring out of all superstars in 2011...wat y'all think?" That kind of thinking will help him win over the Dallas fan base in a hurry after arriving from Sacramento in a 2023 trade.
Porzingis started the scoring for Dallas by draining a 3 a minute and a half in against New Orleans on Feb. 12, 2021. By the time the final whistle blew, the team and the player both had new highs for treys in a game. The Mavs topped their old mark of 24 by hitting 25 in the 143-130 win. The forward topped his old mark of seven by sinking eight.
A glue guy for the Mavericks, Finney-Smith fills in the gaps with his ability to plug up driving lanes on defense and stick clutch jumpers on the other end. Taking his game to another level in 2021-22, the versatile swingman set career highs in scoring (11.0), 3-pointers (2.2) and steals (1.1).
