Name that player!

The Timberwolves won more games in their first season (22) than any of the other late 1980s expansion teams, and with a group of young players led by Christian Laettner, the team is on the rise. The Timberwolves have a hard act to follow, however; the last NBA team in Minnesota, the Lakers, won five NBA Championships before moving to L.A. in 1960. DID YOU KNOW? Only two players - Brad Sellers and Doug West - are left from the Timberwolves' inaugural season. Sidney Lowe, who took over as coach of the Timberwolves midway through 1992-93, was a starting guard in the franchise's first game and recorded the first assist in Timberwolves history. SCORECARD. On April 17, 1990, the third-largest crowd in NBA history packed the Metrodome, giving the Timberwolves an attendance total of 1,072,572, the highest single-season total ever.

I felt so bad when I saw Marbury get hurt earlier in the 1996-97 season. This kid is going to be sensational. Now that he is back in the fold, the Timberwolves are going nowhere but up. Along with tag-team partner Kevin Garnett, the Timberwolves have two of the most exciting and athletic young stars in the entire NBA. Did you know? Marbury teamed with Kevin Gameyt on the 1995 USA Junior Select Team that played in the Basketball Hall of Fame Hoop Summit.

With the exception of Denver's Dikembe Mutombo, Longley was the most sought after big man in the 1991 NBA Draft. Extremely nimble for a man his size, Longley paced the New Mexico Lobos in scoring (19.1) PPG) and rebounding (9.2 RPG) as a senior, and set a school record with 117 blocks as a junior.
