Juwan opened the 1996-97 campaign on a major roll, having tallied 20 or more points in each of the last 16 games of the prior season. But with Chris Webber healthy the full year, and Rod Strickland contributing backcourt firepower to the Bullets, Howard found less of a mandate to score. He still managed to flirt with the 20-PPG mark while providing his usual 40 minutes, eight rebounds, four assists and baseline-to-baseline effort each night.
A new team meant a new role for Morris in 2022-23. "I'm excited to finally just get my opportunity to play more extended minutes and actually show the world more of what I'm capable of," he told NBC Sports. "That's leading, my character and just my willingness and drive to win and make others around me better."
Cheaney settles in as the Wizards' starting shooting guard this year, where he hopes to pile on the points. He was fourth on last year's Bullets squad in points scored.
