On court, Cincy's unorthodox style deceives the defender. When he fakes it's an exaggerated up-and-down motion, he shoots his jumpers on the way down and gets them away with great frequency as avg. shows. Traded to Utah Stars - Aug. 16, 1972.
A member of the ABA's All Defensive Squad for 1972-73, Mike has the potential to be a great pro guard. He has unlimited skills and, when unleashed, he could earn that title. Although somewhat reluctant to go to the basket, Mike has made some of his biggest games in clutch situations for the Colonels. Mike was an NAIA All-American in college.
Artis was named ABA's MVP and All-ABA center in rookie campaign last season. Artis was league's leading rebounder, blocked 412 shots & led ABA in 2-point field goal shooting. Broke ABA record, hitting 806 of 1,348 attempts for .598 mark, bettering Zelmo Beaty's record of .555.
