"No words can express how much this city has meant to me," Wylie wrote, saying his goodbyes to Kansas City after signing with the Commanders in 2023. The two-time Super Bowl winner was off to establish roots and hold his ground with his new squad as an outstanding offensive tackle with big-game experience.
Allen's dad put him through a workout in high school that shaped his work ethic. "I recall mowing one strip of the grass, then running around the block... and I would repeat that pattern until the entire lawn was mowed," he said. "I thought he was just being mean, but he wanted me to be in the best possible shape."
The LSU-Alabama rivalry extends off the field, where the two programs compete for the nation's best recruits. Despite a stronghold in the Boot State, the Tigers lost Mathis, a product of Wisner, La., to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. At Bama, the defensive tackle excelled, becoming an All-SEC performer.
