Kerry has found a home in New York. After signing as a free agent, he waited in the wings through most of the season's first half in 1999. When finally given the full-time starting job, he led the Giants to two victories in his first three starts. Collins was lethal late in games, throwing for more than half his yardage in the fourth quarter.
Slayton loves being a mentor to younger wideouts. "I do my best to help the young guys in any way I can," he said. "The main thing I try to impress upon them is that this is a different level of intensity, different level of urgency, and you have. got to focus, be on top of your assignments, and be ready for the game."
After making a great reputation for himself in Canadian Football, Alex came to New York last season. He proved to be the top Giant running back and placed 3rd in the N.F.L. in Average Yards Gained. Alex does double duty as a ball carrier and helps on the defense as a linebacker.
