In a Week 13 matchup against the Saints, Newton evened his starting record to 2-2 in the Superdome with a decisive 41-10 win over their division rivals in 2014. More importantly, Newton's season-best 114.0 passer rating, including 3 TDs and no picks, sparked the Panthers to four straight wins to close the season.

Showing his toughness on the goal line, Hubbard took a handoff and bulled his way into the end zone for a 2-yard TD against the Seahawks in Week 14 of 2022. It was the highlight of a 74-yard rushing performance for the Panthers back, and it helped push Carolina to a 30-24 victory at Lumen Field.

Julius, a two-sport star in high school and college, has given up basketball to concentrate on football with the Panthers. The results were impressive, as he earned 2002 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors despite missing four games. "I think after one year he is the best I have seen," said Jack Del Rio, Panthers defensive coordinator last year about the lifelong North Carolinian. "He came in and had as big an impact in all aspects of the game in one year - he was a dominant force."

It only feels like Hubbard became an overnight star. In actuality, the Panthers RB's breakthrough season of 2023, where he compiled 1,135 yards from scrimmage, was the result of endless hours of hard work. "I pride myself on focusing on the little things and the details," he explained.
