Name that player!

An outstanding end from Texas Christian who after graduation joined the Yanks in 1946. Has been a regular defensive end, and has seen service as a defensive halfback. Has exceptional speed. Blocks well, and is known for sharp tackling. After receiving All-American honors in 1942, Bruce joined the Army Air Corps. Pilot with rank of 1st lieutenant. Flew 35 missions with the 8th Air Force.



A Detroit Lion, 1948-49. Becomes a Yank in 1950. Set new Lions' pass receiving record in 1949 by catching 66 for 1,014 yards - second best in league. Played end for University of Michigan. Gained first prominence on Fritz Crisler's great 1947 West Conference and Rose Bowl championship team. Served in Navy. Plays basketball and softball.



This will be George's third year in pro football. In 1950, as a Yank halfback, he gained 411 yards and scored 9 touchdowns. A good punter, accurate passer, and one of the best all round backs in the League. An All-American at the University of Indiana in 1948. All-Big-Ten, 1945, 1947, 1948. Chicago All-Star game, 1949. Hobby: model planes. Plans to teach phys. ed. Army service: 16 months.

Played every minute of every Yank game on offensive during the 1950 season. An excellent pivot man, and noted for his offensive blocking. Has spent 2 years in pro ball. Hails from the University of Oregon. Played fullback and center. Captain in 1947. All-Pacific Coast 2 years. Cotton Bowl, 1948. In Marines 4 years. Rank of sergeant. On Pacific duty 1 year. At Okinawa. Plans to coach.
