Fans in New York cried "Hail, Caesar" during brief playing career with the Rangers. Was MVP in Central League with Minneapolis in 1964-65. Played in Stanley Cup playoffs with Toronto at just 22 years-of-age. Also played for Montreal Canadiens. Big for a goalie: 6-3, 185.
After five years of shuttling between the minors and the NHL, Dave has found a home in Minnesota. He was second on the North Stars with 40 goals in 1989-90 and his 78 points was third on the club. Dave, a first-round pick of the New York Rangers in 1983, was traded to Minnesota in 1987. He got his first chance to play regularly in 1988-89 and he responded with a spectacular season, scoring 35 goals - 27 more than his career high. He also led the North Stars with a plus-13 rating. An injury kept him out of that season's playoffs but he got a taste of postseason play in 1990 and scored a key goal in Game 6 against Chicago.
