Johnny has been with the Red Wings since 1952, when they called him up from Indianapolis. During the 1952-53 season, he had 23 Goals and 19 Assists for 42 Points. He started in pro Hockey in 1949 with Omaha, where he had 80 Points (41 Goals, 39 Assists). During the 1950-51 season at Indianapolis, Johnny put in 34 Goals and in 42 games the following season he scored 25 Goals.
Nicklas' rookie season was a huge success. He led Sweden to the gold medal at the 1991 World Championships and played in the Canada Cup last fall, then quickly became recognized as one of the best point men to enter the NHL in many years. Despite his diminutive stature, Roger Crozier has become one of pro hockey's most decorated goalies. The little man has been bothered by nerves in recent years, after winning both the Calder Trophy as top rookie in 1965 and the Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1966.
