Rangers joined NHL in 1926 with Lester Patrick as coach. Team's original forward line of Cooks and Boucher rated one of finest in history. Hall of Famer Ching Johnson also starred on original Ranger team.



Rangers outbid at least two other NHL clubs for Ed's services after standout season with Providence of AHL, his fifth year with Reds.



Born Jansen, Sask., Nov. 27, 1932. 5'10", 172. Shoots right. Kenny led AHL in goals before Rangers acquired him in 1959-60. He was used primarily to kill penalties last year. All of his pro minor experience was under Eddie Shore.
