Penguins Card of the Day

Leo Boivin
Consistency is Leo Boivin's trademark, and the rugged defenseman played in his 1,000th NHL game last season. He's been with four clubs (Toronto, Boston, Detroit and Pittsburgh), but spent his best years with the Bruins.

Letang scored the Stanley Cup-clinching goal against San Jose in Game 6 of the Final in 2016 to earn his second career championship ring. He played in his third NHL All-Star game in 2016.

Mario experienced both highs and lows during the 1989-90 season. His biggest high came in the NHL All-Star Game in Pittsburgh when he scored four goals and won the game's MVP award for a record third time. His low point came in the second half of the season when a herniated disk sidelined him for 21 games and interrupted his 46-game point scoring streak. But he still finished the season with 123 points. Mario, Rookie of the Year in 1984-85, has recorded at least 100 points in each of his six NHL seasons. He won the Art Ross Trophy as the league's leading scorer for the second straight season in 1988-89 and won the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP in 1987-88.

Crosby recorded his 1,300th NHL point in a 4-0 win over visiting Buffalo on March 25, 2021.

Les Binkley
Only one goaltender, Ed Giacomin of the New York Rangers, played more games than Les last season. "Bink" appeared in 54 games for the Penguins. Les was trainer for Cleveland of the AHL when the Baron goalie was injured in 1961. He started playing regularly then, and hasn't stopped.
