Wanna hear something funny? Listen to critics talk about Ovechkin's "off year" in 2011-12. Off year? Most players would love to have an "off year" in which they pot 38 goals. In doing so, he became one of three players with at least 30 in each of the last seven seasons (Jarome Iginla, Ilya Kovalchuk).



The Caps "Super Sub" was spectacular during the 1996 playoffs. Kolzig almost singlehandedly led his team into the second round. Member of Team Germany at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. Recorded a 1.94 GAA and .934 save percentage in five playoff appearances in 1996. Named the IHL's playoff MVP in 1994 while with Portland.



The No. 16 overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft led Washington and was third in the NHL in penalty minutes in 2015-16 and signed a two-year contract extension with the Capitals in June 2016.
