Name that player!

A second-round draft pick of the Whalers in 1990, Geoff Sanderson joined Hartford for the end of the 1990-91 season and the Stanley Cup playoffs after completing his junior career with Swift Current (WHL). He led the Broncos in goals and was second on his team in points last season. Sanderson, who averaged better than a point per game in his WHL career, scored his first NHL goal in his first game with the Whalers last season.

Gordie scored the 1000th Goal of his pro career for Whalers vs. Bulls, 12-7-77.

Gordie was, over an unprecedented 32-year career, a superbly smooth skater, tremendously strong, aggressive, and determined scorer and team player. He still holds the career record for points in pro hockey. Gordie also holds six All-Star Game records. He became the first playing president of a pro team, the first father to play pro hockey with two of his sons and the first playing grandfather.
