Name that player!

Niedermayer is still considered one of the top defenseman in the NHL. The 2005-06 season saw him in peak form as he was tied for second in the NHL among defensemen in scoring.

The Russian town of Togliatti has delivered some superb hockey talents to the NHL, not the least of whom is Pittsburgh's chief sniper, Alexei Kovalev. Ilia, who turned heads in the Ducks' 2001 training camp and later earned a spot on the 2002 AHL All-Star squad, could be the next. Among his ambitions in '01-02 was to master English. His AHL coach at Cincinnati, Mike Babcock, chuckled and said Bryzgalov was coming along fine. "You think his English isn't [that] good until we give up a shorthanded goal and you hear him yelling at the bench."

It says great things about "Jiggy" that the young goalie, while backstopping a team captained by world-class superstar Paul Kariya, was widely considered Anaheim's 2001-02 MVP. During one torrid stretch in late January and early February, he put together a six-game winning streak in which he allowed just nine goals and shut out the high-octane St. Louis Blues, 1-0, with a 15-save effort. Giguere is clearly the rock of Anaheim's future in goal.

Kyle Palmieri
Palmieri's first career hat trick on Feb. 27, 2013 vs. Nashville had an interesting twist to it. Corey Perry had the primary assist and Ryan Getzlaf the secondary one on all three markers. The last time that happened (2007-08), Buffalo's Thomas Vanek was set up three times by Derek Roy and Drew Stafford.
