Name that player!

The Russian town of Togliatti has delivered some superb hockey talents to the NHL, not the least of whom is Pittsburgh's chief sniper, Alexei Kovalev. Ilia, who turned heads in the Ducks' 2001 training camp and later earned a spot on the 2002 AHL All-Star squad, could be the next. Among his ambitions in '01-02 was to master English. His AHL coach at Cincinnati, Mike Babcock, chuckled and said Bryzgalov was coming along fine. "You think his English isn't [that] good until we give up a shorthanded goal and you hear him yelling at the bench."

Paul was a 19-year-old pre-NHL Olympian when Sweden took the 1994 gold medal from Canada in a shootout. At 23, he was a sidelined concussion victim when Canada came up short in the '98 Winter Games. But good things do come to those who wait. Kariya was 27 when Canada beat Team USA on 2/24/02 to win Olympic gold with a 5-2 victory.

One of the best players to come out of the 1994 Entry Draft, Jeff played almost seven years in San Jose before his 2000-01 trade to Anaheim for Finnish star Teemu Selanne.

Back to the Front! Mighty Ducks card back du jour...

Andy McDonald
Simply put, the Strathroy, Ontario native has been a different player in 2005-06, and no one in Anaheim is complaining. Clearly, a developing talent in his first four years in the league, McDonald had never scored more than 10 goals in a season prior to this season when he looked to threaten the 30-goal plateau. He also looked to double his previous best assist total.
