Ryan, the 4th overall pick in the 2005 1st-Year Player Draft after his outstanding career at Virginia, raced all the way to the Major Leagues in his rookie pro season. He combined to hit .350 at Savannah Single-A and Harrisburg Double-A. He also showcased exceptional defensive abilities at 3rd base and shortstop to earn a September call-up to Washington.
Batted .289 for 140 games in 1951. Connected for 28 doubles and 19 homers. Drove in 78 runs. Eddie is patient in waiting 'em out. Knows when to swing, and when to let 'em go by. Not easy to pitch to, even when behind in the count. A's regular shortstop since 1947.
Cal spent his entire 21-year, Hall-of-Fame career in Baltimore, setting the standard for consistency and professionalism. A master at positioning and anticipation, he won two fielding awards at shortstop to go with eight American League Silver Slugger Awards. The 19-time MLB All-Star Game selection garnered AL MVP honors in 1983 and 1991.
