A bigger contract - and a stated desire to escape the oppressive heat in St. Louis - led Young to sign with the Boston Americans of the brand new American League in 1901. He immediately became the new circuit's first star, winning its pitching Triple Crown with 33 wins, 158 strikeouts and a 1.62 ERA. Cy, 34 at the time, would never again log that many victories in a season.



Andrew has a flair for the dramatic. On April 12, Manager Dave Martinez called upon Andrew to pinch hit in the seventh inning and he went yard. He also hit two late, game- tying HRS in a three-week span in the second half, one on August 12 with Washington down to its last out.



Jarren provided the Red Sox an early peek at his newfound power in 2021 by swatting a homer against Toronto in his third big-league game on July 19. At Triple-A, the speedy outfielder went 16-for-19 on steals, and booked his team's second-highest OPS.
