After twelve years of managing in the minor leagues, Don starts as the skipper of the Cincinnati Reds in 1966. During his apprenticeship, he led his clubs to three pennant flags and eight first division finishes. A former infielder for the Yankees, the old Browns, the Athletics and the Tigers, Don has played at second base, shortstop and at third base. From 1958-1960, Don was a coach for the Kansas City Athletics. The next year he switched to a Detroit Tiger uniform. The New York Mets beckoned and Don headed into Shea Stadium in 1964 and 1965. This year Don believes that the Reds have an excellent chance to capture the N.L. pennant. Last season the Reds had the highest team batting mark in the majors.
Sixto should rejoin Miami's rotation early in 2022 after his rehab from shoulder surgery. He was Baseball Prospectus' number four overall prospect entering 2021.
