Juan has had one of the best starts to a career in MLB history. His 421 OBP in first 420 career games is 15th all-time. His OPS+ adjusted for park and league through age 22 is 60% better than average, trailing only Mike Trout and Ty Cobb all-time.
Bob joined Yankees late last season after setting International League on fire with his pitching. He had a 15-6 record when he got call from Yanks. Early in season he pitched 36 shut-out innings - won his first 9 ball games. Had a sensational ERA of 1.91 and struck out 133 batters in 178 1/3 innings. With Yanks he compiled a 5-3 record. Originally a catcher, he went to mound in 1946 for Class D Radford club. Spent 1947 season with Norfolk.
