The first selection in the entire 1973 NBA College draft, Doug was rated as the nation's top quard for his play at Illinois State. He averaged 26 points on a 650-point season as a senior after a spectacular junior year when his 32.6 average ranked him 3rd in the nation. Doug averaged at least 80.8 percent in foul shooting over his career and shot at a 50% mark from the field in his junior season.
In his first four through the NBA, many teams will get their first look at the offensive arsenal that Stackhouse uses. A power dunker with serious rise, Stackhouse threw down 19.2 points per game his sophomore year at the University of North Carolina.
Wire to wire, Shaq was the NBA's dominant force in '99-00. Playing more minutes than ever ("I don't get tired. I'm not programmed for it," he says), he not only hung up one the league's best set of numbers ever, but worked the other end so well he was a legitimate contender for Defensive Player of the Year honors. O'Neal even ranked second among centers in APG (3.8).
