Coached Hornets to first playoff series victory by one of the four recent expansion teams, beating Boston 3-1 in the first round of the 1993 NBA Playoffs... Charlotte had the NBA's second-highest scoring average in 1992-93 with (110.1 ppg)... Was the Hornets' Vice President of Basketball Operations prior to being named head coach in 1991... Played nine seasons with Philadelphia, San Antonio, Utah and Dallas.



Sherman slipped into the second round of the 1989 NBA draft, and the Heat immediately picked him up and reunited him with former college teammate Rony Seikaly. Douglas made the all-rookie team by placing 11th in the league in assists. Sherman, who left Syracuse as the NCAA's all-time assist leader, finished behind only Seikaly on Miami in scoring.

On November 13, 1987, Washington went to the line 69 times against the Knicks and set an NBA record for most free throws (60) in a regulation NBA game.
