An exciting guard who makes things happen on the court, Anthony Peeler used his slashing moves and his sweet left-handed shot to win the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year Award in 1991-92. Peeler averaged 23.4 points per game as a senior, and he left Missouri as the school's all-time leader in assists (497) and steals (196). Dangerous on the fast break, he is an outside threat, too, as his career three-point percentage (.393) indicates. The Lakers snapped him up with the 15th overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft. Peeler should play a major role in the Lakers' return to the up-tempo style of play that brought them five NBA Championships in the 1980s.
A Rhodes Scholar who delayed his pro signing two years to study at O ford, Bill came into his own last season after a trying rookie campaign. A 12.4 pt. shooter and hustler, he was extremely popular with N. Y. fans.
Fulfilling his promise to bring Cleveland its first major sports championship in 52 years, James unanimously earned 2016 NBA Finals MVP honors after a seven-game classic vs. the Warriors. He rallied the Cavs from a 3-1 deficit and led all players in points (208), rebounds (79), assists (62), steals (18) and blocks (16).
