Name that player!

One of the greats of pro football, George will be playing his eleventh season this year. It would be hard to say which of his outstanding abilities is most valuable. He excels in place kicking, signal calling and passing. He kicked 156 straight points after touchdown with the Chicago "Bears" which is still an NFL record. He is second only to Lou Groza with 88 field goals and is still the highest scoring player in "Bear" History. George played his college football at Kentucky under the great Paul "Bear". Bryant.

The drop kick - Best method as used by great field goal kickers like Dutch Clark of the Philadelphia Eagles, (former Colo- rado College star, is to stand 10 to 12 yards immediately behind your centre. Stand easily with weight on right kicking foot). Take time to set your defensive backs to meet the threat of incoming blockers. Line up the spot where you will drop the ball on the ground with the goal posts. Keep this kicking angle in your mind's eye, receive the ball, adjust it in your hands so the point, lace goalward, falls vertically to the ground, and bring the toe of your boot against it. Dutch Clark, All American Quarterback, 1929, All National League Quarterback, 1932, Colorado College. 6 ft. tall, weighs 185 pounds.

Notice on the reverse side of this card, how "Bo" Molenda of the N. Y. Giants, holds the ball in the pit of his stomach as he plunges into the line. In hitting the line, there is always danger that opposing players will knock the ball from the carrier's grasp, or "steal it," as is perfectly legal if held too lightly. In line plunges the ball should be held with both hands, one above and one below, as illustrated. As Molenda is shown the weight of the body should be tilted forward at an angle to meet the shock of hitting the line, though at all times the legs must keep the body balanced for swift change in direction. Bo Molenda, All American Fullback, from University of Michigan. 28 years old, 6 ft., 213 pounds.
