1957-58 was a year of great personal triumph for Dickie Moore, a year in which Dickie came into his own with a resounding "bang". Following his fine 29 goal effort of the previous year, Dickie started out the new season by clearly indicating he meant to repeat. Before the season wound up some months later, Dickie had more than repeated. He led the League in goals scored, in total points, won the Art Ross Trophy and the First All Star team left wing berth.
Regarded by many experts as the greatest Hockey Player of all time, Gordie has averaged 69 Points per season in his 8 seasons in the N.H.L. During the past 4 seasons he led the League in Total Points and in 3 of these was the top Goal Scorer. Gordie came up to Detroit in 1946 after 1 year in the Minors. His greatest year was 1952-53 with 49 Goals and 46 Assists for 95 Points.
Born in Montreal, Dec. 19, 1924. 5'11", 180. All-time defense ace, won Norris Trophy 7 of 10 years. Led Rangers into playoffs as rookie coach in 1961-62. Last year he topped all defensemen as scorer after shedding coach job.
