Playing his 11th season with Canadiens, he has earned a place among NHL's "greatest". Known for the power and accuracy of his shots, he holds more individual records than any other NHL player. A groin injury side-lined him for part of last season, or he would undoubtedly have broken Nels Stewart life-time record of 323 goals, of which the "Rocket" was 4 short. Look for him to surpass it early this year.
Former winner of Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP in Stanley Cup playoffs. Won Calder Trophy as NHL rookie of year, 1971-72. First Team All-Star and Vezina winner, 1972-73.
Has played with Smith's Falls in Old Federal League 1903. Ottawa 1904, 1905, 110 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911.
