Last amateur club: Toronto Marlboros (Sr.). Came to the Leaf club from Pittsburgh where he was a top scorer. The past season was his first full year with the Toronto team and he was a contender for the Clader Trophy award. A bull dog while on the ice, George likes to mix it up.

A reliable, thorough workman, Bert had his best season last year when he racked up 52 points to place 5th in the point race. One of hockey's best puck-carriers behind his own line, he has a knack of playing the puck off the boards in the corners and getting away from two or three men with his tricky stick work. A good passer, accurate shot, and hard worker, Bert has become an important cog in the Canadien machine. Works hard during the summer too, as he owns large farm at Scepter.

Recording his seventh multi-point outing of 2022-23, Labanc opened the scoring against host Arizona in the first period and dished out an assist in the final frame to help San Jose secure a 4-2 victory on Jan. 10.
